Vince McMahon, Triple H and the entire WWE have done a fantastic job in recent years to sign and bring in some of the worlds best talent such as Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, and many other amazing talent. However, there is still a ton of amazing wrestlers still out there on the independent scene and becoming very successful doing so but you have to think that maybe that talent wants to reach the big leagues and have a shot to compete with the best in the world. This is the top ten wrestlers the WWE need to sign.
#10 – The Hardy Boyz
OK I may be cheating a bit here as the Hardy’s have already been in the WWE before but you can’t tell me that you don’t want to see them come back for one last run. I’ll be the first to say that the BROKEN Matt Hardy gimmick was terrible to me when it was first created but now it is arguably one of the best things in wrestling. The Hardy’s have completely reinvented themselves in TNA and with hat company on its last legs, look out for one last run from one of the best tag teams of all time, The Hardy Boyz.
#9 – Ethan Carter III
Another former WWE talent gone to TNA but this time it is one of the biggest wasted talents in WWE history, Ethan Carter III. EC3 is already a two time TNA World Heavyweight Champion and one of the best performers in that company and it may make the officials over at WWE take another look and realize the mistake they made not giving this guy a chance. Ec3 has improved dramatically since his WWE release and if he does get signed to the WWE again one day (which he should hence why he’s on this list) then expect a huge star to be made in the World Wrestling Entertainment.
#8 – Matt Sydal
I promise you this list isn’t all former WWE talents. Matt Sydal, formerly known as Evan Bourne, would fit in very nicely in today’s WWE, especially in the Cruiserweight division. Sydal is one of the most entertaining guys to watch on the independent scene with his astonishing high flying and athletic ability. Sydal was never really given a chance in WWE due to his size and his only real moment of glory was becoming a tag team champion with Kofi Kingston. If seems unlikely that Sydal will ever return to the WWE due to his success he is enjoying on the independent scene but that doesn’t mean WWE shouldn’t at least try.
#7 – Will Osperay
See? I promised you didn’t I? Will Osperay has never been employed by WWE but he definitely should be in the near future. “The Aerial Assassin” is one of the most agile and athletic stars on the independent scene, much like Sydal. Osperay has all the tools and skills to make it in the WWE and much like Sydal, Osperay would be a great fir in the Cruiserweight division and if you don’t believe me, go watch his match with Ricochet earlier this year in Japan.
#6 – Ricochet
Speaking of Ricochet. If you don’t know who Ricochet is, you may know him as Prince Puma on Lucha Underground and if you know who I’m talking about now, you know he is a PHENOMENAL talent. Ricochet has teased a possible WWE deal multiple times but there hasn’t been any true indication that he will indeed sign with WWE. However, Ricochet is one of those once in a lifetime talents that the WWE can’t afford to never not sign. Ricochet is having great success on the independent scene but if he is to ever come to the WWE, he has world champion written all over him.
#5 – Kazuchika Okada
This guy is just too damn good to not be in WWE. The Japanese sensation, Kazuchika Okada, has had an extraordinary career in New Japan Pro Wrestling and is currently the top guy as the IWGP Heavyweight Champion. His ability to do anything in the ring is remarkable and Okada is the definition of Japanese wrestling as he proves that Japanese wrestling is the best wrestling, so why not bring it to WWE? Okada already has history with a guy named Shinsuke Nakamura so it would make sense to bring those two together again on the big stage. The four time Heavyweight Champion and former G1 Climax winner is sure to be scouted by WWE soon and when he does, expect the biggest star in Japan to come to America.
#4 – Adam Cole
His name is Adam Cole BAY-BAY! Adam Cole is undoubtedly one of the hottest talents in the world as we speak because of his shocking decision to join Bullet Club. Joining the historic stable gave Cole new life and led him to win the ROH World Championship just a few months ago. Adam Cole has the looks and skills to succeed in the WWE and when the time is right, I do feel as if he will finally join the big leagues and when he does, like many others on this list, he is going to be a star.
#3 – The Young Bucks
Did somebody say Superkick Party? The Young Bucks are just…special. They have the ability to perform any move in any match with any opponent and it is just spectacular. Imagine the matches Nick and Matt could pull off in WWE against teams like The New Day, The Usos, and even their former Bullet Club stablemates, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. It seems as if The Young Bucks are destined fot the WWE alongside Adam Cole and another member of Bullet Club who hasn’t been mentioned yet..
#2 – Jay Lethal
Ah yes the former Randy Savage wannabe. Jay Lethal is GOOD. Jay Lethal is REALLY GOOD. The former ROH World Champion has proven that whatever company he works for, he excels and rises to the top. Lethal has an amazing skill set and agile ability that would help him fit in today’s WWE. If Jay Lethal were to ever be signed to WWE, there is one opponent I would love to see him face and that mans name is Cedric Alexander. Imagine it.
#1 – Kenny Omega
You knew it was coming. Kenny freaking Omega is without a doubt the number one guy WWE needs to sign. Look at Kenny’s development ever since taking charge of Bullet Club and how he’s fared. He’s won the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, formed a highly entertaining group dubbed The Elite with The Young Bucks, and has shown that he can be the top star in any company with his ring and mic work. Kenny’s biggest achievement however is winning the G1 Climax, Japan’s biggest tournament of the year. Omega will face number five on this list, Kazuchika Okada, for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 11 in January of next year.
Kenny is just getting started in Japan but if he ever decides to jump ship and join the WWE, he can instantly become the top star in the company. Kenny is special hence why he is number one on the list of wrestlers that WWE need to sign.
