Hype. That is how I feel about No Mercy tonight. Smackdown LIVE has done a tremendous job hyping this event up as it will surely have high stakes and emotions. The event is giving us matches that were built up to perfection like the career vs title match and the triple threat World title match. The question is now, who will win? We here at Grplgme have come up with out No Mercy 2016 predictions and whether you agree or disagree, the event will be very entertaining.
John Cena vs AJ Styles vs Dean Ambrose
WWE just broke the news that the triple threat match between John Cena, AJ Styles, and Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Championship will kick off the event. Now either they want to kick the show off with a bang or just want to distract people from tonight’s debate but either way, it’s up first. Now I think it is pretty obvious that Styles will retain because all the signs point to it. The rumors flying around are that Cena will be taking more time off to film season two of American Grit and Ambrose will be taking time off to “recharge his batteries” so it is very unlikely that the title will change hands. AJ has been a phenomenal (no pun intended) champion thus far and he will walk out of No Mercy still the WWE World Champion. As for Cena and his 16th reign, it will come, but tonight is not the night.
Jack Swagger vs Baron Corbin
Do I have to predict this match? Look I love Corbin and he deserves to be in a much higher profile match than this. Corbin will walk out victorious because what is a Swagger win going to accomplish? Corbin needs the win to propel him into a bigger feud in the upcoming future. Might I suggest a Mr. Bray Wyatt?
Nikki Bella vs Carmella
I love women’s wrestling. Ever since Nikki Bella has come back she has done nothing but put the new talent over and I respect her a ton for it and I do think she will once again put the new talent over when she faces her bitter rival, Carmella. Carmella has already pinned Bella many times in the past few weeks so one more won’t hurt. Carmella has been ten times more fun and entertaining to watch ever since her stunning heel turn and a win in her first singles Pay-Per View match will really help out her stock, especially when it is against the longest reigning Divas Champion of all time.
Becky Lynch vs Alexa Bliss
Ok look I’ve hear the news about Becky’s injury but I am treating this as “not yet confirmed” so this match is still on. And as for who I see walking out champion? Becky. Becky Lynch deserved to win the title at Backlash and she undoubtedly deserved to retain tonight. Alexa will become a Women’s champion one day but right now is not her time. Both of these women will light it up and if Becky is truly injured, I hope she will sit out the event instead of dropping the title because I am not ready for Becky to lose that belt. Ever.
Heath Slater and Rhyno vs The Usos
This. Match. Is. Hard. I truly have no idea who will walk out with the gold but if I have to pick, I pick The Usos. It hurts me to say that because I just love Slater and Rhyno. We were presented with this long story line of Heath trying to get a job and in the process of it all he managed to get himself insanely over and loved by the fans while having a legend as his partner. But all good things come to an end. The Usos have completely reinvented themselves as a team and I love them as I did when they first debuted and I do believe they walk out the new Tag Team Champions. But how? I see the team of Slater and Rhyno coming to an end when Rhyno turns on him to costs them the titles. But who knows, maybe they can make me super happy and retain. I REALLY hope they retain.
Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt
Can someone say another loss because Bray Wyatt is about to receive another loss. Look Bray is losing whether you like it or not because that is just how it always has been. Does Bray need the win? YES. But he won’t get it because Randy needs the momentum due to the fact that he will be the next to challenge Styles for the WWE World Championship. Randy doesn’t need a win like this but he will get it against Bray and once Bray loses, he will completely lose all credibility and that is even if he has any after losing twice to Kane.
The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler
Here we go. This match is guaranteed to main event which only means one thing. Dolph Ziggler will lose. Remember when I said there would be high emotions? Yeah, well this match will bring every kind of emotion that exists. The Miz has been the MVP of 2016 and he will be the one to retire Dolph Ziggler and that pains me to say. You can talk all you want about Dolph Ziggler but the guy has been a loyal workhorse for the company for years and the fact that his career will end tonight should make you feel some sort of way. But just imagine, The Miz hitting the Skull Crushing Finale, pinning Dolph with the three count, and realizing that Dolph will never wrestle in the WWE again, it will be hard not to cry. We will all cry. We will all be emotional. And we will all be greatful when we chant “Thank you Ziggler!”.
